Teams
Pop Warner has designed a classifcation to help promote a safe, playing environment for all players. This is why there are sevaral different levels or teams offered for children to participate in. There are two major factors that determine the playing level: Age and Weight.
We generally suggest each child play at the "lowest level" possible, unless there are compelling reasons to move up.
Age
A child's football age is the age of the child as of July 31, 2013.
Weight
A child's football weight is determined at the Pop Warner Certification on August 26th. If your child will not be available this day, please make arrangements with your head coach to have your child certified by Pop Warner BEFORE this date. Failure to do so will result in your child being ineligible for play this season and will have to wait until next season to play.

*The asterisked (*) provisions in each division allow the so-called "older but lighter" player to also qualify. The last year of eligibility falls under more stringent weight restrictions, per above.
A LEAGUE SHALL NOT ADD THE "IN-SEASON" GROWTH ALLOWANCE AS A MEANS OF UPPING MAXIMUM WEIGHTS OR INCREASING CERTIFICATION WEIGHTS.
